Hopi Ear Candling is a non-invasive treatment

What is Hopi Ear Candling?

Hopi ear candling originates from medical ceremonies performed by a Native American Indian tribe known as the Hopis or Peace People. Hopi ear candles have been used for centuries throughout North America and Asia to treat ear problems and had been known to the Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks.

The treatment was devised to rebalance pressure between the ear, nose and throat.

What’s the procedure?                          Hopi ear candling

The candles are unlike conventional candles and there is no wax and it is never painful. The candle is actually a cotton tube, impregnated with beeswax, honey, and therapeutic oils.

The work of the therapist is to make the client as comfortable as possible. The client lies on their side, on one of our comfortable massage tables.

The tapered end of an ear candle is gently placed in the client’s ear while the other end of the candle is lit. The burning action of the candle infuses herbs and essential oils from the candle into a vapour, which is drawn into the ear canal.  The heat of the candle creates a vacuum-effect which performs a massaging function as well as softening any impurities which lifts ear wax and other debris into the cone of the candle.

Gentle heat from the candle stimulates blood circulation, increases the cleansing circulation of lymph from the lymphatic system, intensifies the immune system and stimulates energy points and reflex zones. This regulates the pressure system within the ear and head. The treatment is repeated in the other ear.
