As part of Roscore Clinic’s self-sufficiency policy, the Clinic uses honey and propolis ( Herbal Apothecary- James Fearnley) from local apiaries. Local beeswax is used in the production of the Clinic’s herbal creams. Honey is an important ingredient in many Panchakarma medicines and is also used to treat leg ulcers and burns.

The bee-keepers in Early Ireland had a very high status as honey was highly regarded both as a medicine and a food. Beekeeping was highly regulated in the Brehan Laws.
